• Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. We are the largest career-oriented education organization in Santa Clara County for high school & adult students.

Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley.

MetroED provides educational opportunities for adults and high school students within their designated districts. Silicon Valley Career Technical Education provides career technical education for high school (and adult students, on a space-available basis) in the following districts:

    • Campbell Union High School District
    • East Side Union High School District
    • Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District
    • Milpitas Unified School District
    • San Jose Unified School District

MetroED was created as a joint powers authority by six school districts in Santa Clara County. We are governed by the six districts that comprise the joint powers; each of the six districts designates one of their elected board members to sit on the Metropolitan Education Districts Governing Board.

The Metropolitan Education District programs are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Accreditation affirms quality of instruction and assures that coursework taken at this school for credit will be accepted by the other institutions, including colleges and universities.
