    ESL Careers in Early Childhood Education Classes is a collaboration between West Valley Community College and Silicon Valley Adult Education.   We offer ESL students a career pathway to quickly enter the workforce. Students will earn permits upon completion of classes.   These classes are free if students are enrolled in both West Valley Community College and Silicon Valley Adult Education High School Equivalency Class.

    ESL Careers In Early Childhood Education 1

    This course prepares intermediate-level ESL students for a career working with young children. Emphasis is on acquiring vocabulary to communicate with children, parents, and teaching staff regarding childcare, general health, and safety issues.

    ESL for Careers in Early Childhood Education 2

    This course is designed to prepare intermediate-level or higher ESL students for a career working with young children, with particular emphasis on vocabulary and entry-level skills acquisition and familiarity with common phrases for interacting with English-speaking children, staff, and parents. Topics include infant, toddler, preschooler, and school-age child development.
