Assemblymember Alex Lee Tours Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE)

On August 20, Assemblymember Alex Lee visited Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) and toured the Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) campus with MetroED Governing Board President Linda Goytia, Vice President Albert Gonzalez, Katherine Tseng, Superintendent Lynch and MetroED Foundation members Marc Baker and Carmen Villanueva.

Lee represents the 25th Assembly District encompassing Fremont, San José, Santa Clara, Milpitas, and Newark. As a strong supporter of quality career and technical education (CTE) programs, Lee knows the importance of assisting students in building the foundational skills and gaining hands-on experience. He also understands that developing the basis for high school students’ future in postsecondary education and careers begins with top-rated programs. Students enrolled in CTE programs are challenging themselves and learning advanced and highly technical subjects that will help them fill current in-demand jobs.

The tour highlight was seeing students in action in the Electrical, Construction, & HVAC, Veterinarian, Medical Assisting, & Dental Assisting, Video Production, Animation & Fashion Design, Fire Science/First Responder, Law Enforcement, Metals, Truck Mechanics, & Automotive Services, and Auto Body Refinishing & Auto Body Repair programs.
