MetroED partners with Blackboard to deliver engaging new websites across the district

San Jose, Ca, October 19, 2021—Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) has partnered with Blackboard to build district and program websites providing a responsive and engaging web experience for visitors across every device.

"The District is committed to providing up-to-date information through its website to all members of the public. The redesign of the websites creates more user-friendly, easier-to-navigate sites where new and returning visitors can find timely, relevant information. In addition, our new websites have a common look and feel district-wide," said Alyssa Lynch, Superintendent.

Blackboard Web Community Manager is a website and content management system that provides the tools and capabilities to build a website that will serve as a communications hub, engaging all community members via continually updated website content, blogs, forms and surveys, social media, and other tools. MetroED will also use responsive web design (RWD) services to ensure its website can be easily read and navigated on a wide range of devices, from desktops to mobile phones and tablets.

Some highlights of MetroED's new websites include:

  • Accessibility enhancements
  • A keyword search engine that provides relevant and easy-to-use search results for quick navigation
  • A site directory structure provides visitors with short, straightforward, and user-friendly URLs

"We are excited to add MetroED to the Blackboard family. Their new websites showcase their brand and commitment to building a strong and connected community. We look forward to supporting their future engagement initiatives," said Christina Fleming, Vice President of Blackboard Community Engagement.
