Metropolitan Education District Launches Redesigned Website

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) launched new District and program websites in partnership with Blackboard. The new sites provide students, parents, staff, alumni, and school community members with simplified access to resources and information.

The new district website and program homepages feature a contemporary aesthetic and efficient access to news and announcements, a calendar of events, governing board updates, programs and services, and other resources.

“We are always actively finding ways to inform our community of the programs and services we provide to our students, whether that’s through social media or newsletters,” Superintendent Alyssa Lynch said. “By streamlining our website, we are continuing our ongoing commitment to provide pertinent information and increase community engagement.”

The revamped district and school homepages will be accessible on tablets and mobile phones to further strengthen convenience for users.

A translation button will be available on the District’s page, allowing visitors to translate the website content into various languages using Google Translate.

The District partnered with Blackboard, which provides the tools and capabilities to build a website that will serve as a communications hub, engaging all community members via continually updated website content, blogs, forms and surveys, social media, and other tools.

We would like to acknowledge the Communications and Technology teams for their efforts in making this redesign possible. A huge thank you to our Webmaster, Amanda Durbin, who spent a lot of her time on every detail of this redesign.
