Adult Education Week

SAN JOSE, Calif. —MetroED and SVAE recognize teachers' and students' efforts, persistence, and accomplishments. Their successful examples of collective impact shape our communities. MetroED Governing Board honored the 166th anniversary of Adult Education in California and the 139th year in San Jose (Resolution #12-03-09-22 Recognizing and Celebrating Adult Education Week) on March 9.

SVAE provides opportunities for adults in English-as-a-second-language, adult basic skills, high school diploma, high school equivalency test preparation, and career technical education classes that aid adults in becoming literate, career and college ready, and active participants in their community.

The school offers instruction to over 1,200 adults every year in response to the San Jose community's many different and essential educational needs.
