2022-23 Application for Metropolitan Education District Advisory Council Scholarship

Requirements for Scholarship Consideration:

• A grade point average (GPA) of C+ or better.
• You must have earned at least 10 HSD credits at Silicon Valley Adult Education OR earned your GED or High School Equivalency at Silicon Valley Adult Education
• You must also have 80% attendance in all SVAE classes.

To be considered for a scholarship, you must provide: 

A 300-word essay on how you would use the additional funding towards taking your college goals to the next level. 

Please email the following information to SVAE counselors no later than Monday, May 1, 2023.

The scholarship committee will review: 

• The 300 words essay
• Grade point average of previous coursework. The work completed at SVAE is given primary attention. 
• Attendance

The recipient of a scholarship award must start using the funds according to the scholarship received. If the scholarship is not used within the time limit placed on the scholarship, the amount will revert to the scholarship fund (6 months to 2 years, depending on the scholarship). The entire amount of the award, therefore, must be applied toward an education program from the award date.
