Develop skills in figure drawing, illustration, digital painting, traditional animation, 2D computer animation, storyboards, sound design, film production, 3D modeling, basic game/web design and portfolio development. The animation industry has been growing in Silicon Valley for the past several years. There is a need for animators to work on films, video games, web designs, and various advertising campaigns. The best candidates for these job positions are the ones with both technical computer skills as well as fine art skills. It is a competitive industry with salaries ranging from $60,000 to $150,000. The class focuses on academic, technical skills, and employability practices. Students will develop personal and professional skills in the classroom that will transfer to the workplace:

About the Instructor
Eric Whitman has been a professional Designer/Director/Animator for almost 20 years. He began his career at Sony Animation, working on the Men in Black animated series. He then became an Animation Director at Flip Your Lid Studios, working on projects for Universal Studios, Urban Entertainment, and other clients. Soon thereafter, he launched his own company called Animation Solution and has produced numerous animations for both TV and the Internet. Clients have included Coca-Cola, The Simpsons, Futurama, Sesame Street, Bob the Builder, The Wiggles, Time-Warp Trio, Nissan, Jeep, and others. He was recognized for his work in education in 2009 by Adobe Inc. and his students have won multiple awards at the Disney Teen Animation Festival International (TAFI).
